As part of Art in East Herts we had not one but two amazing watercolour workshops in Little Berkhamsted, with the hugely talented Jake Winkle. Using wet into wet technique, in the morning we created a snow leopard and in the afternoon a tiger. Jake explained the different types of paper to use, plus type of pallette, paints and brushes, and we started with a warm-up exercise in which we got used to exploring how to build up layers of paint on wet paper. Then the leap of faith began as we started work on our actual snow leopards! Using wet into wet allows us to create depth, and that was certainly what was evident in our finished paintings. It was a brilliant workshop - shame we had to stop for lunch! The afternoon's workshop ran in a similar style and we learnt from the morning's experience how to build our striped tiger. What a fantastic experience!
Great feedback from everyone Jake really is a star!
