We had another fabulous day with Lis Moon who taught us the rudiments of press flower art at our workshop at the Dutch Marketplace where we were amongst the beautiful flowers at the nursery in the Orangery conservatory. Although it was a swelting hot day we all kept our cool. Despite the heat we enjoyed our welcome refreshments outside and listened to Lis briefing us what we would be doing at the workshop. It was a relaxing day where we learnt about different flowers and how to arrange them...

We had a lovely day with Nicky Hunter our wonderful professional floral watercolour artist. She started us off by sketching and developing a composition of flowers from some reference pictures. Then we did our paint mixing and using consistency of different paints from 'skimmed milk to cream', we painted a soft wash as the background which we layered to create a hint of the drawing we had sketched. We left our work to settle. We then used different colours to develop the flowers and leaves...

What a fabulous day and what a great venue to hold our Pressed Floral Art Workshop at the Dutch Marketplace amongst the beautiful flowers in the nursery. It was a relaxing day where students learnt about different flowers from the delightful Lis Moon. She offered an array of pressed flowers and leaves and taught everyone how to arrange and glue these delicate flowers on cards. Lots of patience required but even mistakes or tears where easily rectified. Nothing was wasted a truly eco friendly...
