Flowers in Spring

We had a lovely day with Nicky Hunter our wonderful professional floral watercolour artist.

She started us off by sketching and developing a composition of flowers from some reference pictures. Then we did our paint mixing and using consistency of different paints from 'skimmed milk to cream', we painted a soft wash as the background which we layered to create a hint of the drawing we had sketched. We left our work to settle.

We then used different colours to develop the flowers and leaves and finished with some gauche paint to highlight the flower tips and centre areas.

We had a magnificent 2 course lunch and were awarded 5+ for our efforts.

Everyone had their very own masterpiece to be proud of!!!
